Апстракт:

In this talk I will discuss the ubiquitous nature of the scale-free distribution and briefly overview some classical models which are known to generate scale-free distributions of some observed variables. In the second part of the talk I will present some recent results on the distribution of clusters of consonants and words in the Romanian language and distribution of earthquakes in the Vrancea (Romania) and South-California (USA) regions.
